Hereinafter called “Netstars”) hereby informs you that it has entered into capital tie-ups with NTT Vietnam Corporation *1 (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) that is an affiliated company of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation Group (hereinafter called “NTT East”) and ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Hereinafter called “CTC”) that is an affiliated company of ITOCHU Corporation, by accepting respective investments from each company.


With these alliances, Netstars will widely diffuse and deploy an application for payment by QR code called “StarPay” developed by itself, not only in Japan but also overseas centering on Asia.


Netstars has been developing payment services for tourists who visit Japan as an acquirer of WeChat Pay of Tencent Holdings Limited for the first time in Japan. The number of member stores with StarPay has exceeded 10,000, and StarPay currently occupies a firm position in the industry of payment services for Chinese people who visit Japan. StarPay is compatible with “LINE Pay” from November 2017 and will also be compatible with “d Payment” in April 2018. Netstars strives to continuously enhance the convenience of both users and stores.


Netstars continues to develop its services with a target of 1 million stores with StarPay by 2020, by incorporating overseas channels and communication services owned by NTT East, as well as by integrating its services with solutions provided by CTC as packages.
